Anna Bartuska, M.S.

Anna (she/her/hers) is a clinical psychology doctoral student at the University of Oregon, currently completing her clinical internship at VA Palo Alto Health Care. Her research focuses on improving the quality of mental health services in low-resource settings through nuanced measurement of treatment integrity, clinical decision support tool development, and workforce development. Anna's dissertation explored how providers respond to emergent life events during modular cognitive behavioral therapy for children and adolescents. This work resulted in the Emergent Life Event Clinical Tool (ELECT), a novel decision-support tool that guides clinicians in selecting and coordinating evidence-based practices when unexpected life events are disclosed in session (manuscript in preparation). Previously, Anna worked as a program coordinator at Community Psychiatry PRIDE at Massachusetts General Hospital. She has also contributed to research on technology-assisted treatment for substance use disorder in North Carolina, and on mental health outcomes among orphaned and separated children living in group homes in India. Anna received a B.S. in Neuroscience and a B.A. in Global Health from Duke University in 2017. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, skiing, and meeting new people.
