Promoting the Use of Evidence to Navigate Therapy Equitably (PUENTE)
What is the goal of the study?
We are trying to develop clinical tools that will help improve mental health care for Latino/a youth and families.
What will the study involve?
Clinical supervisors, therapists, parents, and youth will participate in a 90-minute video interview where they will be asked questions about how therapists can better meet the needs of Latino/a youths and families. Interviews will be audio recorded. Participants will also complete a brief questionnaire about their demographics.
Where is the study taking place?
Totally remotely! Interviews will be held online via Zoom.
How long will the study take?
This study will involve a one-time 90-minute interview.
Who can participate?
We are hoping to learn from:
Clinical supervisors and therapists with at least 5 years of clinical experience using MAP or MATCH with Latino/a families with anxiety, depression, trauma, or conduct problems
Parents of a Medicaid-eligible Latino/a child (ages 5-15) who has received outpatient therapy in California or Florida for anxiety, depression, trauma, or conduct problems in the past year
Latino/a youth (ages 7-15) who are Medicaid-eligible and have received outpatient therapy in California or Florida for anxiety, depression, trauma, or conduct problems in the past year
What are the risks and benefits of participating?
The risks of participating are minimal and include mild boredom. There are no anticipated direct benefits to participating in the study. However, your participation may help the research team develop tools to help improve mental health treatment for Latino/a youth and families.
Will I be paid for participating?
Yes! Clinical supervisors and therapists may be paid up to $150. Parents may be paid up to $120. Youth may be paid up to a total of $60.

We have finished interviewing clinical supervisors and therapists for this study, and thank all those who have already participated.
Next, we will hold recurring group meetings with clinical supervisors, therapists, parents, and youth to develop and refine prototypes of clinical tools that will help improve mental health care for Latino/a youth and families.
